Crush of the Moment
This could just be a crush of the moment
A hopeful day dream,
That seems to be at the forefront,
of ones reasoning
Hinting at a deepening closeness
That digresses from high fives
To cuddle times
To take that step
Into a potential chasm of complications
To awkwardness and rejection without basis
of twinned affections is not my normal direction.
I’m a dandelion seed
In a spring breeze
Destined to float for eternity
Never landing in fertile lands
To discover unmade plans where your hands
Intertwine with mine like vines.
To plant those shoots
in the hope that they may
Take root and produce Loves fruits,
Wondering if just one bite
Might keep me up at night
Pumping adrenaline like in the ring
Of a boxing fight
While the stride of your thoroughbred
in time with Berghain.
We will stand together, I know
bracing an unfamiliar Berlin snow,
to show we won’t get lost in
a blizzard of deep techno
But will we keep it in the friend zone,
should I just grow a backbone,
ring your phone, and tell you, I’m alone.
For this could just be a crush of the moment.
